Director Denis Villeneuve has confirmed that this will be his final adaptation of Frank Herbert’s best-selling sci-fi novels.

The dystopian Dune universe has never been spicier. Set nearly two decades after the events of the previous film, Dune: Part Three sees Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) in total control of the Imperium, an empire spanning thousands of planets.
While he was once a humble outsider who fell in love with Fremen warrior Chani (Zendaya), the iron-fisted emperor he’s become is the very first thing viewers witness in the final trailer as he brutally interrogates his wife, Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh), using the Voice—a consciousness-penetrating force that compels obedience. What’s revealed is an assassination is being planned, and Chani is involved.

Director Denis Villeneuve, who co-wrote the screenplay with Brian K. Vaughan, has confirmed that this will be his final adaptation of author Frank Herbert’s best-selling sci-fi novels, which are underpinned by a “spice” substance that extends life and enables space travel.
Also starring Jason Momoa, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach De Bankolé, Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson, and Javier Bardem, Dune: Part Three arrives in theaters on December 18 on “Dunesday,” so named for its release date with Avengers: Doomsday. Watch the final trailer below:
