We are mere hours away from the last Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival before Evercold, the new expansion, is finally on the horizon. During Fan Fests’ opening keynote presentations, there is usually a lot of information about the upcoming expansion.
The Final Fantasy 14 Japan Fan Festival in Tokyo will kick off around 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT tonight, on October 30. The event will be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch. The keynote will be presented in English and Japanese, while the stage events will be presented in Japanese only.
For non-Japanese-speaking fans, there are usually translations provided by mods or other fans on the official Final Fantasy 14 Discord server.
We have a few things we know for sure are being shown at the opening keynote. We will finally get the name and official reveal of the new ranged physical DPS job. Square Enix previously teased the job on the official site. The new job will likely wield a crossbow and use a falcon as part of its move set.
Unlike most years, there has not been a lot of promises for reveals for the Tokyo Fan Festival.
It’s very likely that we will get the final trailer for Evercold, too, along with a specific release date. Previously, it was announced that the expansion is coming in January, but a day has not yet been revealed.
It’s possible we will get the pre-order date for Evercold‘s collector’s edition.
Previously, it was revealed that we’ll hear more about the new level sync and gear progression systems, as well as the transition to a weekly system for rewards instead of dailies, at Tokyo Fan Fest, so that is basically guaranteed.
We will also hear more about Alliance Raid and Raid progression changes for Evercold.
The major thing that will not be at the show that fans are curious about is the new Evolved Mode combat system changes for all of the current jobs in the game. That information will likely come in December at a dedicated Live Letter before the expansion releases in January.
Either way, fans are likely excited for the end of Dawntrail and the start of Evercold in January 2027.
