Livvy Dunne and Stephen Amell’s ‘Baywatch’ Reboot Sets Premiere Date

The trusty red-adorned lifeguards of Baywatch are officially coming to the rescue early next year, according to a press release from Fox.

The reboot of the ’90s classic is set to premiere Wednesday, January 6, 2027 at 9 pm. According to the official logline for the upcoming series, set to premiere during Fox’s midseason, the sequel series will follow “Stephen Amell as a grown-up version of Hobie Buchannon, the wild child from the original series,” as provided by Variety.

“The show follows Hobie, now a Baywatch Captain, following in the footsteps of his father, Mitch, while his world is turned upside down by the surprise arrival of Charlie (Jessica Belkin), the daughter he never knew. Eager to carry on the family legacy, Charlie strives to become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her dad.”

The original Baywatch, which aired on NBC and in syndication from 1989 to 2001, was once the most-watched series in the world, turning lead cast members such as Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff into household names. The beach-based series followed a team of California lifeguards as they balanced saving lives at the beach with their own personal (and often unrealistic) ventures.

Actors Shay Mitchell (You, Pretty Little Liars), Hassie Harrison (Yellowstone, Tacoma FD.), David Chokachi (Baywatch original series, Witchblade), and Thaddeus LaGrone (Mr. Irrelevant, The Land) also make up the show’s ensemble cast, alongside Sports Illustrated model Brooks Nader, TikToker Noah Beck, and gymnast-turned fellow Sports Illustrated model Livvy Dunne.

In a newly released trailer for the reboot, we see the new characters get into fights, start secret affairs, and, of course, save lives at sea — all while doing that iconic run while in the equally iconic red bathing costumes.

Rap superstar Megan Thee Stallion also makes a cameo in the trailer, as one of many announced supporting roles from other stars, including Ashley Moore, Luke Eisner, Nadia Gray, Kylar Miranda, and Charlie McElveen.
