Marvel to Release New Look at ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ During Major Sporting Event

Avengers: Doomsday has certainly become one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2026, if not the most, and the film should top off a historic year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The film is set to release on December 18, 2026, and it is expected to have similar success to its four prequels. Each Avengers film has topped $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office, with the fourth edition, Avengers: Endgame (2019), earning a whopping $2.8 billion, the second highest-grossing movie of all time, next to Avatar.

But while the film could earn just as much, if not more than it’s prequel, it already has some stiff competition within the MCU as Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day earned over $2.5 billion worldwide.

Marvel Studios has already released four main teaser trailers for Avengers: Doomsday, to go along with a full trailer and a special look. And with December 18 inching closer, Marvel will be releasing a new look at the movie on Friday night.

During Game 1 of the World Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Milwaukee Brewers, fans can catch a “special look” at the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. MLB revealed the news on Thursday, using numerous baseball stars in the announcement as well, including Bryce Harper, Jacob Misiorowski, Freddie Freeman, Randy Arozarena and Junior Caminero.

“Something’s coming…” the MLB wrote on X. “Tune in to World Series Game 1 for an exclusive preview of Avengers: Doomsday. In theaters everywhere December 18.”

Avengers: Doomsday has another stacked cast, with many actors reprising previous roles. Many of the original X-Men will return, such as Ian McKellen’s Magneto and Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, while Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby’s Fantastic Four will be making their way into the film as well.

Other key cast members from previous Avengers films include Chris Hemsworth returning as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America/Sam Wilson, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, among others. And while Tony Stark died in Avengers: Endgame, Robert Downey Jr. will still be returning as the main villain, Dr. Doom/Victor von Doom.
