Hot on the heels of Netflix’s announcement a few weeks ago that The Watcher Season 2 is in production in New York, we now have some casting news.
‘The Watcher’ Adds 4 Cast Members for Season 2
Madelaine Petsch, Evan Adams, Owen Painter, and Quintessa Swindell have boarded Season 2 as series regulars. They join returning leads Naomi Watts as Nora Brannock, Bobby Cannavale as Dean Brannock, Jennifer Coolidge as Karen Calhoun, Margo Martindale as Mo, and Isabel Gravitt as Ellie Brannock.
Season 1 followed the Brannocks, who moved into their dream home in suburbia, only to become the recipients of ominous letters from someone called “The Watcher.” The series is based on The Cut 2018 article “The Haunting of a Dream House” by Reeves Wiedeman, a true crime piece detailing the real-life experience of Derek and Maria Broaddus, who received threatening letters from an anonymous stalker.
The series hails from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, who both serve as executive producers. Brennan is also the showrunner.
The Watcher Season 1, which consisted of seven episodes, premiered on Oct. 13, 2022. It spent five weeks on Netflix’s Global Top 10 list for English-language TV shows while climbing into the Top 10 in more than 90 countries. Netflix renewed it for Season 2 less than a month after its debut.
