Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Update Lands on Switch 2

A long-awaited update to a Nintendo favorite franchise has officially landed.

The new Nintendo Switch Sports Resort landed for the Switch 2 on Thursday with new games and features for players of all ages.

More games, enhanced experience

In keeping with the motion-control fun introduced way back with the Nintendo Wii, the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort presents a dozen different sports to try to master.

  • Tennis
  • Bowling
  • Prop plane
  • Power cruising
  • Boxing
  • Archery
  • Thumb wrestling
  • Skateboarding
  • Volleyball
  • Table tennis
  • Basketball
  • Golf

Thumb wrestling and skateboarding are new from the original Switch version, and there is a jump rope mode for warming up.

The skateboarding game allows players to take advantage of the mouse function on Joy-Con 2 controllers who want to grind rails and perform aerial tricks.

Nintendo also announced this week new icon elements are available for Switch users looking to spend My Nintendo Platinum Points.

The first wave dropped Monday with more set to come over the next three weeks.

While the Joy-Con 2 and wrist strap can be used to play every game, third-party peripherals are also available to enhance the experience. Those include tennis rackets and golf clubs.
