Prime Video’s Latest Action Thriller Takes Down Reacher to Claim No. 1 Spot

Amazon’s action thriller The Terminal List has finally returned for its long-awaited second season, promising another dose of military action, political conspiracies, and revenge. Remarkably, all eight episodes premiered on October 21, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video, according to Amazon’s official announcement.

Crucially, the List’s return puts the series back in competition with Reacher, the popular adaptation starring Alan Ritchson. While Reacher has progressed through multiple seasons, The Terminal List has taken more than four years to deliver its second instalment.

According to Amazon, the franchise has accumulated more than 100 million viewers worldwide, making clear the audience interest behind its return.

Chris Pratt reprises his role as James Reece, a Navy SEAL commander whose pursuit of vengeance defined the first season. The new instalment adapts True Believer, the second novel in author Jack Carr’s bestselling series.

Amazon describes the season as a journey of “violent redemption,” with Reece searching for a new purpose after completing his list of targets. His next mission expands into an international espionage story involving a conspiracy stretching from Moscow to Langley, with connections to his family’s history.

The story travels across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, significantly expanding the geographical scope of the original revenge thriller.

Can It Overtake ‘Reacher’?

As data shows, The Terminal List is climbing Prime Video’s charts and taking aim at the top position, putting Pratt’s action hero in direct competition with Ritchson’s formidable Jack Reacher.

Just days after its October 21, 2026 all-at-once drop of eight episodes, The Terminal List Season 2 has surged to the top of Prime Video’s global TV charts. FlixPatrol rankings for October 26 show it at No. 1 worldwide with 459 points, ahead of Carrie (440) and the Reacher spinoff Neagley (225). Reacher itself sits at No. 6 with only 147 points.

The List’s rapid climb saw it already No. 3 worldwide (and No. 2 in the U.S.) by October 22, overtaking Reacher while trailing only Neagley. By October 24 it had claimed the outright No. 1 spot on the platform. The official Terminal List account confirmed it was the #1 Prime Original worldwide over the weekend.

This puts Chris Pratt’s James Reece in direct, head-to-head competition with Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher franchise at the exact moment both occupy the same action-thriller lane on the same service. The binge model helped: all eight episodes available immediately drove concentrated viewing that weekly-drip shows cannot match in the short term.

Combined with the franchise’s pre-existing 100 million-plus viewers (per Amazon), the numbers show Pratt’s series is actively challenging the current king of Prime Video action for the top position. The series’ delayed return makes its streaming performance particularly significant.
