The Powderbound features a 2-layer Hydrowall nylon shell that’s coated with a durable water-repellent coating and seam-sealed, making for a waterproof and windproof outer layer that’s also breathable. Underneath that shell is 60-gram MidLoft synthetic insulation (the hood gets 40 g) that makes this jacket warm but not bulky, and underneath that is a soft and comfortable polyester lining. Rounding things out are a bunch of useful features, from a storm flap to keep out wind and rain to a full-length side vent on the left to zippered and tricot-lined hand pockets. There’s also a hem drawcord and hook-and-loop cuff tabs to seal in heat.
