Robert Pattinson’s Star-Making Movie Is a Netflix Top 10 Hit Again

Robert Pattinson may have had an incredible theatrical run in 2026 — thanks to films like The Odyssey, Primetime, and The Drama — but one nearly two-decade-old film has dominated the streaming charts on Netflix.

Twilight, the 2008 cultural phenomenon that launched a five-film saga, in addition to the careers of Pattinson and co-lead Kristen Stewart, has climbed to number 5 on Netflix’s U.S. movie charts, beating more recent major franchises like Transformers One (2024) and the hit true crime documentary The Widower: ‘Til Death Do Us Part (2026).

Having first come to prominence as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), Twilight, despite negative reviews from critics, helped certify Pattinson as a box office draw and movie star. In the role of Edward Cullen, the brooding 104-year-old vampire trapped in the body of a teenage boy, Pattinson convincingly sells the melodrama of the fantasy romance, based on the book series by Stephanie Meyer.

Cullen, along with girlfriend Bella Swan (played by Stewart), proved itself as a truly supernatural love story, propelling Twilight’s modest budget of $37 million to $412 million at the box office. In a rare feat for a teen romance movie, Twilight became one of the highest-grossing films of the year, sitting alongside The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Iron Man, and James Bond’s Quantum of Solace, proving more financially profitable than all these films in terms of return of studio investment.

Twilight, which has jumped from the #10 spot to the #5 position on Netflix’s U.S. film chart, went on to become a $3 billion franchise, prompting a Young Adult (YA) adaptation phenomenon in Hollywood that lasts to this day. While Robert Pattinson often mocks his performance in the Twilight saga, it seems Netflix subscribers still can’t get enough of Edward Cullen, even 18 years on.
