Target is giving New Yorkers a new reason to make a Target run.
Nearly one year after opening its reimagined SoHo location, the retailer has completed the store’s transformation with the debut of a redesigned lower level. The new space includes immersive destinations dedicated to men’s grooming, wellness, home, toys, food and seasonal products.
One of the most relevant additions for male shoppers is Balance Mart, a wellness-focused section featuring an expanded men’s grooming assortment alongside trending wellness brands and Korean beauty products. The concept reflects the increasing overlap between grooming, skincare and everyday wellness as more men build routines that extend beyond basic shaving products.
The lower level also introduces Bullseye Loft, a home destination featuring shoppable living spaces furnished with products from Target’s Threshold brand. Instead of displaying items exclusively on conventional shelves, the space allows customers to see how furniture and décor could work together inside an apartment—a particularly useful format for New Yorkers navigating smaller living spaces.
Elsewhere, Explorers’ Lab brings toys and entertainment together through an interactive environment influenced by storytelling and New York culture. The Snack Bar presents grab-and-go products from emerging brands, including Wilde and Cadootz, through a series of neighborhood-inspired displays.
A rotating Seasonal Shopping Bar will highlight sweet and savory products, including selections from Target’s Favorite Day brand. The retailer has also redesigned its larger food and beverage section to resemble a modern city market.
“Our guests want more than just a place to shop—they want to feel inspired, discover something new and find great style, design and value in the products they shop for every day,” Target chief brand officer Michelle Mesenburg said in a statement.
Target has positioned the SoHo store as both a shopping destination and a testing ground for future retail concepts. According to the company, apparel and accessories have become the location’s highest-performing category since the reimagined store opened. Its merchandise is refreshed monthly, while limited-time experiences allow the retailer to respond to emerging cultural and style trends.
The company said nearly two-thirds of consumers familiar with the SoHo location believe the store makes Target feel more stylish, citing information from its own National Awareness Study.
The transformation will continue evolving in 2027, when Target plans to introduce more SoHo-exclusive products, collectibles and experiences.
Target currently operates 109 stores across New York state, including more than 40 locations in New York City, and employs over 20,000 people statewide.
