On the afternoon of October 14, Kristaps Porziņģis finally addressed fans, analysts, and “haters” who have been speculating about the status of his health. The NBA champion took to X (formerly Twitter) and, in a series of posts, made an “official” statement regarding what has been sidelining him, while also expressing his desire to get back on the court. However, did he happen to say when that will be? Not quite, but his quote was still insightful nonetheless.
Kristaps Porzingis: “It Has Definitely Been Frustrating”
Again, posted to Porziņģis’ official X account, the NBA big man wrote across two posts:
“Hello people, I’m working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health asap. Honestly, I’m getting better and better. I just have to stay patient, and I believe I’ll be feeling great again soon.
“It has definitely been frustrating dealing with some health stuff that you can’t exactly pinpoint, on top of injuries throughout my career, so it has added up for sure, but we will get through it 💪🏼
“Health is wealth. Thank you for all the support 🙏🏼
“I appreciate all the internet doctors trying to diagnose and help, but I’m in the best hands. So everyone can relax now 😄🙏🏼 and I don’t have hiv or aids.”
So Porziņģis didn’t exactly open up about his prognosis and the timetable on his road to recovery. However, the tone certainly sounds as if he is rather hopeful about his ultimate return to playing. It’s also worth noting that the comments about HIV and AIDS seem to come out of left field.

Can the Warriors Make Playoffs without Porzingis
If the Warriors are hoping to make it to the playoffs, they could certainly use the help of Porzingis. They didn’t exactly acquire any big names in this very active offseason, and all-star Jimmy Butler isn’t expected to return to the top of 2027. When you consider how competitive the West is, with Oklahoma, San Antonio, Minnesota, and Denver likely to claim one of the eight playoff seeds in the conference, the remaining spots will be hard to grab. And Dallas, Houston, and newly retooled Portland are also looking to be competitive this year.
