A former WWE star has reportedly landed a new acting role, this time in a FX series starring You actress Victoria Pedretti.
According to PWInsider, Ted Arcidi has been cast in Disinherited, a TV drama written by Peter Gould (known for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul). Arcidi’s role is said to be a recurring one.
Disinherited follows the story of a pair of scrappy sisters as they’re thrust into a world of generational wealth and long-buried crimes after receiving an unexpected inheritance. Pedretti and Kiera Allen lead the series’ cast. Joining them and Arcidi are Alan Ruck, Katja Herbers, Eddie Marsan, Jonathan Higginbotham, and Avi Nash. Nash is best known as Siddiq in the hit AMC series The Walking Dead.
“Disinherited is exactly the kind of bold, character-driven storytelling that defines FX,” FX Entertainment President Gina Balian said. “With Peter Gould at the helm, this is a deeply human story about family, power and consequence, that plays with high moral stakes. And at the center of it all is a pair of sisters for whom it’s impossible not to root for as we watch this David vs. Goliath story unfold.”
Further information on Arcidi’s role in the FX series, which is currently filming, is not known at this time. Before building his acting resume, he made moves in the powerlifting and pro wrestling worlds, with a notable stint in WWF (now World Wrestling Entertainment).
Arcidi, dubbed the “World’s Strongest Man,” joined the wrestling juggernaut in late 1985, competing against the likes of Tony Atlas, Big John Studd, and The Iron Sheik. His WrestleMania 2 appearance saw him in the WWF & NFL Battle Royal in 1986, a match ultimately won by Andre The Giant. The final match of his WWE career pitted him against future WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts at a live event in Calgary in February 1987.
Arcidi’s acting credits include 30 Rock, Blue Bloods, and Law & Order. Disinherited has yet to receive a premiere date from FX.
