Stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and George MacKay Discuss the Importance of Yearning

“I think it is so fun for an audience to see two people that love each other deeply, but aren’t able to say it,” Edgar-Jones said, to which MacKay followed up: “Yearning. It’s timeless, isn’t it?” From the moment both characters lay eyes on each other, it’s apparent that there’s a frisson in the air. But Elinor, famous among Austen’s characters for her reservedness, and Edward, for his shyness, won’t make it easy for themselves.

The yearning, indeed, is strong.
