Julia Stiles had the excellent hype male on Tuesday’s Dancing With destiny The show’s target market is reliably filled with close friends, household, and star buddies cheering on their loved ones , but the Oct. 13 episode, Super Dish Night, brought a specifically nostalgic site visitor for Stiles, whose regular commemorated her 2001 film Save the Last Dancing
For the themed evening, the celeb contestants and their pro companions each done to songs from past Super Bowl halftime programs. Stiles and Ezra Sosa chose a jazz regular set to Jennifer Lopez’s “Jenny From the Block,” and Sosa’s choreography attracted directly from the Juilliard tryout scene in Save the Last Dancing , right to the prop chair. “I seem like there are rules that we’re gon na be damaging, however I truly trust his artistry,” Stiles claimed of revisiting her much-memed routine “This is my chance for the do-over that I have actually always wanted. So, I need to just go out there and possess it. I have no other choice.”
She crushed it. Stiles and Sosa earned a combined 33 out of 40, good for fourth put on the night, and Stiles had a specifically passionate supporter in the crowd: her Conserve the Last Dance co-star, Sean Patrick Thomas, who can be seen grinning and grooving along.
“I am simply over the moon to be right here to enjoy Julia do her thing tonight on Dancing with the Stars ,” Thomas stated in a video published by the program. “We had a fun time doing Save the Last Dance in the past, and she brought it all the back below tonight.”
The program of assistance mirrors the film itself. In Conserve the Last Dance , Stiles plays Sara, a ballet dancer that quits after her mommy passes away in a car crash heading to her very first Juilliard audition. Thomas’ Derek, a classmate that becomes her love rate of interest, aids her mix hip-hop into her ballet and pushes her to try again. When she does, he shows up partway with the tryout to cheer her on. The scene ends with Derek informing the judges, “All due regard, if you don’t let this lady in, you’re crazy.”
Thomas grooving along in the DWTS target market has to do with as near a Sara-and-Derek follow up as followers have obtained until now, though both stars have actually considered in on the possibility of an actual one. “I can never ever think about something that seems possible. Unless they wound up marrying in some way. But that seems also simple,” Thomas told E! News in 2021, adding that he ‘d have a look if someone had an excellent concept. Stiles, for her part, pitched a reunion that opens up with Sara and Derek facing each various other at the supermarket, adult lives in tow.
At the same time, Thomas’ surprise cameo acts as a 25 -year reunion in its very own lovable method.
