So when you hit the polls for the midterms, remember those of us who can’t, those who are disenfranchised even while we’re being disparaged. When you vote, take your family, your friends, and your neighbors. Make a day out of it. Bring snacks, bring music, and make the trip something people look forward to rather than something they dread. There will be lines, and that’s okay. Wait through them. If you’re worried about making it before the polling place closes, don’t let that discourage you. In most states, if you’re already standing in line when the polls close, you still get to cast your ballot.
