BYD (HKEX: 1211) is stepping up its teasers for the second-generation Seal 07 sedan, turning to the cabin of the enlarged sedan after revealing its exterior in September.

Zhang Zhuo, general manager of BYD’s Ocean lineup sales division, posted interior details of the model on Weibo on Friday, saying the new car features a “light-luxury cabin.”

The images he shared show that the second-generation Seal 07 features zero-gravity seats with massage, ventilation, and heating functions. The interior is also equipped with a Devialet sound system featuring 20 speakers.

It was the second consecutive day he promoted the model. Thursday’s teaser focused on exterior details.

Both Weibo posts carried the “second-generation Seal 07” hashtag, but neither disclosed pricing, specifications or a launch date.

Zhang first revealed the exterior of the second-generation Seal 07 on September 28, with official images showing a new front fascia and daytime running lights, a fastback silhouette and a full-width tail light.

The vehicle shown at the time was equipped with semi-hidden door handles and a roof-mounted LiDAR, but BYD has yet to detail its driver-assistance features or the configurations of individual variants.

The new model appeared in a catalog of new vehicle models published by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on August 7, with both battery electric and plug-in hybrid versions, all in a 5-seat layout.

It measures 5,080 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,495 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,960 mm, making it 85 mm longer than the Seal 07 EV launched in March, with a wheelbase 60 mm longer.

According to the filing, the battery electric version offers 2 peak motor power outputs of 245 kW (329 hp) and 300 kW, both higher than the 240 kW of the current Seal 07 EV, and both use lithium iron phosphate batteries.

The plug-in hybrid version retains the Seal 07 DM-i name, pairing a 115 kW 1.5-liter engine with a 160 kW drive motor, and comes with a 38.029 kWh battery offering a pure electric range of 245 km.

The current Seal 07 EV was launched on March 5 in 2 variants priced at 169,900 yuan ($25,290) and 189,900 yuan, featuring a 69 kWh second-generation Blade Battery and a range of up to 705 km.

The 2026 Seal 07 DM-i was launched in September 2025 in 4 variants priced from 149,800 yuan to 186,800 yuan.

The Seal family is a core product line of BYD’s Ocean lineup and currently includes battery electric and plug-in hybrid versions of the Seal 08, Seal 06 and Seal 07, as well as the Seal 06 GT and the Seal 06 DM-i wagon.

The family’s sales are under pressure this year. The Seal family sold 46,718 units in September, down 9.04% year-on-year and down 1.57% from August, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
