Chinese newcomer brand Leapmotor trades on value for money, packing its cars with kit. The B05, an electric rival to the Volkswagen ID.3 Neo, is its latest model to arrive in the UK – and the good news is that leasing deals are in tune with the firm’s focus on affordability.
Through the Auto Express Buy A Car service, e-car lease is offering the B05 for a mere £214.76 a month on a two-year deal with an annual mileage cap of 5,000 a year.
All that’s needed to get the deal off the ground is a 12-month initial payment of £2,757.12. But if you’d rather pay less up front, a nine-month outlay comes to £2,294.01, with the monthly cost still a reasonable £234.89.
Meanwhile, adjusting the mileage cap to 8,000 costs £15.22 extra a month on the nine-month initial payment or £13.92 extra on the 12-month.
The B05 only comes in one high-spec trim – and the equipment really is generous. As standard, it gets a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat and four-way adjustable passenger seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, a panoramic glass roof with electric sun blind, 64-colour ambient lighting and much, much more.
Powering the car is a 215bhp electric motor, which gets its juice from a 67.1kWh battery. Leapmotor claims a range of 300 miles, while a standard-fit heat pump will likely ensure decent efficiency during the colder months.
The B05 isn’t as fun to drive as a Renault Megane E-Tech, but it’s quiet, refined and stress-free from behind the wheel.
