Nintendo has released a new trailer for its upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, revealing exciting new additions. The remake will introduce a new generation of players to the iconic Zelda game while giving returning fans a fresh way to experience it. The Switch 2 exclusive video game features many graphical improvements and quality-of-life updates to the 1998 classic.
Released in 1998, Ocarina of Time was the first mainline Legend of Zelda game to feature fully 3D gameplay. Players take on the role of protagonist Link as he navigates two distinct periods of his life: childhood and adulthood. The remake was announced and revealed earlier this year to much fanfare.

New challenges & gameplay changes in the Ocarina of Time remake
The trailer showcases overhauled visuals and updated gameplay mechanics. Link can be seen fighting an enemy with the Z-targeting system as the environment around him is dynamically destroyed. The game features enhanced controls and introduces a new challenge area called the Hall of Fallen Heroes. At the Hall of Fallen Heroes, players can challenge previously defeated monsters to rematches.
The game also features an expanded Hyrule Field, along with denser crowds in the castle town. This time, it also includes a full day and night cycle, while characters will now be fully voiced. The game takes advantage of the Switch 2’s hardware to deliver overhauled visuals. Players will also be able to use the Switch 2’s built-in microphone to play the titular ocarina. Elsewhere, the Zelda Notes app can be used to add gameplay records, location-based challenges, and much more.
Fans will also see the live-action The Legend of Zelda movie in 2027. The upcoming film stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Zelda.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026.
