Probably the most anticipated game of all time, GTA 6 is now just a few weeks away. As the launch draws closer, we’re covering everything you need to know about its PS5 launch, including preload options and release times. In this GTA 6 guide, we cover the GTA 6 release times and preload.
What Are the GTA 6 Release Times?
Rockstar hasn’t revealed any worldwide GTA 6 release times yet, so as of right now, we’re going under the assumption the game will unlock and be available at midnight on 19th November in your local timezone. Should this change, we’ll update the article.
When Can You Preload GTA 6?
If you pre-order the game, GTA 6 will be available to preload from 12th November. This is one week before it comes out.
Pre-ordering digitally means your preload should start automatically on PS5 as soon as it becomes available. The boxed physical version, which is just a code in the box, comes out on 12th November, the same day. You can redeem the code inside the case and start preloading the digital version of GTA 6 if you buy the game this way.
What’s the GTA 6 File Size for Download?
The file size of GTA 6 hasn’t been officiallt shared yet, so we don’t know right now how much data you’ll be downloading to your PS5 in the coming weeks. But, given the size and scale of the game, it’s expected to take up a heck of a lot of space.
Since the title isn’t shipping on a disc in the physical version, Rockstar doesn’t need to worry about keeping the file size reasonable to go onto a disc — or two (or three). That is unless it wants to ship the disc and then require a major download once it’s inserted into the PS5.
One suggestion of the GTA 6 file size on PS5 comes from Twitter account PlayStation Game Size, which scrubs the PS Store backend for information. They claim GTA 6 is a 210GB download on PS5. However, this has not been confirmed and is not official. This could fluctuate between now and release as Rockstar patches the game up until launch.
