A new update on the PSA theft reveals that over 6,400 items were stolen and that the FBI is currently investigating the robbery.
On October 13, more than 200 packages were stolen from a FedEx truck parked outside the PSA headquarters in Santa Ana, California. According to the SAPD, almost $1 million worth of Pokemon and sports trading cards were stolen.
PSA said it deactivated the certificates for the stolen items and notified marketplace partners. Now, an update on the PSA website includes new information about the investigation and details what affected customers can do.
PSA publishes complete list of stolen items
PSA confirmed in a statement that it is working with the Santa Ana Police Department and the FBI, both of which are investigating the theft. Both forces have been provided with video footage, shipment manifests and item-level records by PSA.
PSA also published a complete list of the 6,451 stolen items to “provide clarity, eliminate misinformation, and enlist the broader collecting community in helping identify and recover these items.”
“We have deactivated the certification numbers associated with every stolen graded item and shared the complete list with marketplace sellers, auction houses, and digital commerce platforms, which are actively monitoring for these items,” they said.
The update also offers guidance on compensation, stating that customers will not have to wait until the investigation concludes. They are actively reaching out to affected customers and have issued refunds for the grading fees that are separate from, and do not reduce, the eventual compensation.
PSACard.comThe guidance details what to do if the order was shipped on PSA’s return label, your own return label, or submitted through a dealer.
PSA also stated that it continually evaluates its security protocols and will continue to seek improvements. Moving forward, it said it remains “committed to supporting impacted customers” and has asked affected customers to contact the support team if they require assistance.
