A Couple Got Married at an Eagles Tailgate With an Orchestra. Apparently, a DJ Wasn’t Philly Enough.

Things may not be going great for the Eagles on the field, but Monday night, love was in the air. Specifically, the air above Lot H outside Lincoln Financial Field, where Lindsey Carl and Brandon Byrd got married before Philadelphia played Dallas.

Some couples choose a vineyard. Others apparently need the chance for someone to interrupt their vows and explain what’s wrong with the offense.

The Chicago-based Eagles fans won a tailgate wedding organized by Garage Beer and its partners. Jason Kelce showed up, joined by former teammate Beau Allen, to hand out beers as they walked down the aisle.

A wedding with an open bar? Lovely. A wedding procession with beverage service? Sign me up. I make a great plus-one.

Carl wore a wedding dress with Eagles cowgirl boots. Byrd wore a green suit, Eagles socks, and a feather on his lapel. Her father escorted her down a green aisle, while the Philly Pops performed before, during and after the ceremony, according to Philadelphia’s 6abc. The parking lot had orchestral accompaniment that would put your cousin’s barn wedding to shame.

The couple submitted a 90-second video to enter the giveaway and learned they’d won roughly two and a half weeks before the wedding, they told the station. That’s an impressively short runway for planning a ceremony, though choosing the team colors eliminates several months of arguments over sage versus eucalyptus.

Garage Beer, co-owned by Jason and Travis Kelce, teamed with Steven Singer Jewelers, Kingsford and TrueFan Travel for the event. The announced package included a $2,000 gift card toward wedding rings and a honeymoon experience through Ocean Casino Resort.

For all the coordination a parking-lot wedding requires, the appeal was clear: two people celebrating with fellow fans who share their football obsession. They simply added vows, formalwear, and a retired All-Pro carrying refreshments.

We wish the happy couple all the best. As Eagles fans this year, they’ve already had plenty of practice with the “for better or worse.”
