It’s been months since Knicks OG Anunoby’s celebrated game-winning Game 4 tip in the 2026 NBA playoffs, and his superstardom shows no signs of slowing down, especially as the new season starts up. Well, thanks to Knicks superfan Ben Stiller, the world now knows Anunoby can actually be very funny, as displayed in the new promo clip for the Meet the Parents sequel, Focker-In-Law.
Now, sure, Stiller is a Hollywood legend and has appeared in his fair share of comedic movie roles, so he did a lot of the heavy lifting in the promo. However, Anunoby certainly held his own. I’ve seen the video several times and laugh each one. So what makes it so humorous?
Ben Stiller and OG Anunoby Are the Pairing You Never Knew You Needed

On October 18, the aforementioned promo was released on social media. In it, Stiller walks onto a basketball court with Anunoby and hooks the basketball star up to a lie detector machine. The moment is reminiscent of the scene in Meet the Parents when Robert De Niro’s Jack Byrnes grilled Stiller’s Greg Focker. Stiller poses a series of questions to Anunoby, and without skipping a beat, the Knicks forward answers every one. Just not in the way Stiller would have hoped for.
At one point, Stiller asks, “Okay, who’s your favorite actor,” only for Anunoby to reply, “Anne Hathaway.” When Stiller then specifies, “Male actor,” Anunoby says with a straight face, “Will Ferrell.” The entire video consists of this banter of Stiller baiting Anunoby to defer to the actor as the answer, with the basketball star always naming someone else. Take a look at the clip below:
Ben Stiller “Obv you’re a better basketball player than I am––but do you think you’re a better athlete?”
OG Anunoby “Yes.”
Ben “Who’s your favorite actor?”
OG “Anne Hathaway”
Ben “…OK…”
Ben “Funniest moment in Meet the Parents?”
OG “‘I have nipples Greg. Can you milk me?” pic.twitter.com/PKYhIJt9DH— New York Basketball (@NBA_NewYork) October 18, 2026
With all that being said, it dawned on me that what makes the back-and-forth between Stiller and Anunoby entertainment gold is the latter’s ability to be stoic and play into dry comedy. It was like watching a bit from the Emmy-winning series Curb Your Enthusiasm. Fellow Knicks player Jalen Brunson may have been the one to host Saturday Night Live this year, but perhaps Anunoby should throw his hat in the ring to host at some point.
