For the Loss 2026 concern of GQ , we shot Feeling and Sensibility celebrity George MacKay across numerous London areas. We also asked Murray Clark, British GQ ‘s head of editorial material, to provide all of us his best pointers for places to strike up for a weekend break in the capital. Clark sees London as a city full of unpleasant contradictions, at once “creaking and unusual and chaotic and cosmopolitan and ideal.” And he strikes all of the above notes, plus much more, with his individual recs for how to do it right.
The Resort: The Beaumont Mayfair
Once a 1920 s car park (Brit-speak for parking area), currently a hotel that still has all its Art Deco charm. A stay here, Clark says, is “like being in a little bit of a film.” Chill out at the health spa– appreciate all the temperature levels, thanks to a steam bath, sauna, and cold dive– before eating at Rosi, helmed by well-known cook Lisa Goodwin-Allen.
