Pokémon’s popularity has crossed over from one generation to the next. With Pikachu cards selling for over $16 million, it’s clear that the hobby is nowhere close to slowing down.
With Pokémon fever running rampant, many fans are looking to rep the brand and/or Pikachu on any piece of apparel they can get their hands on. Unfortunately, there isn’t a condensed list of readily available options for sneakers featuring the aforementioned entities.
Well, that is, until today.
PUMA Men’s X Pokémon All-Pro Nitro 2 Pikachu Basketball Sneakers Shoes
Probably one of the easier finds on this list, this collaboration between Puma and Pokémon serves multiple purposes. Given that it is a basketball shoe, you can expect a great deal of cushioning, which is provided by Puma’s ‘Nitro foam’.
The traction on the shoe is also quite sticky, and understandably so, given that it needs to cling to hardwood floors.
The real selling point of the shoe, however, is that the upper is almost entirely yellow, with shades of red to emulate Pikachu and his signature red cheeks. There is also a patch that reads ‘Pokemon’ and an image of the electric-type mouse on this faux suede upper.
This is currently available on Amazon.com for $104.95 in a US size 10.
PUMA x POKEMON Suede Pikachu Sneakers
Puma has been killing it with the Pokémon collaborations. This shoe is more for folks who don’t want the bulky feel of a basketball shoe but still want to rep their favorite Pokémon.
With an upper that is almost entirely black and yellow paneling with a hint of red at the back to highlight a lightning bolt, this shoe can be worn more casually due to its more canvas-like feel.
This can be purchased in a US size 10 on GOAT for $161.
Pokémon x Clarks Wallabee ‘Pikachu’
These are a bit harder to find given that they were released in August 2022. Putting the sneakers to the side for a minute, these boots are for those who might be indulging in activities that are a bit more heavy-duty while also letting people know exactly where their nerd-dom allegiances lie.
It was released in two colorways, with the yellow embossed version taking center stage. It features a yellow suede upper and Pikachu printing all over the shoe.
Another cool design is the embroidered PokéBall that’s stitched directly onto the heel counter.
While no longer available for retail, a few do pop up on eBay, with one currently going for $250 in a US size 10.
Pokémon x Converse Chuck Taylor
This collaboration took place in 2021 to mark Pokémon’s 25th anniversary. Three sneakers were unveiled during this collab.
One had a black upper and, on the side of the shoe, featured four Generation 1 Pokémon: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu. Another was a yellow sneaker dedicated to Pikachu alone, and the third was a pink Jigglypuff sneaker.
The all-yellow Pikachu shoe is a bit tricky to find, but the aforementioned black one is on GOAT, priced at a fairly steep $300 in a US size 10.
