The Air Jordan 13 ‘Altitude’ (414571-042) deserves another comeback. Originally introduced in 2005, the black-and-green classic returned in 2017 with a premium leather makeover that made an already beautiful sneaker even better. Nearly nine years later, resale prices show that sneakerheads haven’t forgotten this underrated piece of Jordan history.

What Makes the Air Jordan 13 ‘Altitude’ Stand Out?

Sneaker News h/t Shoe Sagas
The 2017 edition replaced the reflective mesh found on the 2010 release with a full-grain leather upper, bringing the sneaker closer to its original 2005 appearance. Having handled both versions, I prefer the leather’s durability and softer feel.
Black leather overlays, the signature holographic eye, and a vibrant Altitude Green outsole complete the design. That green breaks up the darkness without making the sneaker difficult to style.

Should You Buy the Air Jordan 13 ‘Altitude’?
The Air Jordan 13 is my most comfortable Jordan, thanks to its responsive Zoom Air cushioning, supportive fit, and flexible construction. The panther-inspired outsole provides stability, while the leather upper feels broken in almost immediately. It’s an excellent everyday sneaker.
Paying above retail for a nearly decade-old Jordan requires some thought. However, seeing my size 14 listed for $149 on GOAT changes everything. That’s $41 below the original retail price and a certified must-cop in my book, provided the condition checks out.
