Weeks after Benjamin Satterley, the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) wrestler known as Pac, died suddenly at the age of 40, an investigation by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office (CCMO) has confirmed that Satterley died of natural causes.
Satterley, who had made an appearance at AEW’s All Out Pay-Per-View event in Chicago the night before his passing on September 27, was “spotted by a passerby in a rental car on the 2700 block of Mannheim Road,” after which “the passerby called 911,” according to local paper the Daily Herald.
An early statement from the nearby Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office indicated no immediate indications of foul play or trauma surrounding Satterley’s death, and an update from the Chicago-based coroner confirmed that their investigation ruled that the British wrestler’s death occurred from natural causes.
In documents shared with People, the CCMO stated that Satterley suffered from “bronchial asthma,” which led to his passing, in a report from October 17.
Satterley’s wife, Natalie Satterley, led tributes to the former AEW double champion, writing on Instagram, beginning her post with “Thank you for our beautiful life darling. Twenty one years ago we became friends, nineteen years ago we fell in love and eleven years ago we were married. Two souls entwined in one; my best friend and better half.”
“The cruelty of having all of our future hopes and dreams snatched away will never feel real,” Natalie continued. “You were so excited to get home to us, you were going to shoot hoops all week with your best mates, we were going to set up your new home gym and take Wilfie for some autumnal walks, have pizza at Rudy’s on your cheat day, go to the match, see Sam Campbell live.”
“I can’t believe it’s been over two weeks already since we last spoke, I can’t believe I’m making this post,” Natalie concluded in her tribute, shared earlier this week. “We will try our hardest to get through this nightmare and look after each other as I know that’s what you would want, but we will miss you every minute, of every hour, of every day. Love you eternally pet.”
