Country music superstar Luke Bryan has been a longtime fan of the Georgia Bulldogs football team, but he’ll have even more of a rooting interest after a recent high school commitment.
Bryan’s son Bo, a three-star quarterback recruit, announced his commitment to the Bulldogs this weekend.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound quarterback plays at Tennessee’s Battle Ground Academy and is rated as the No. 107-ranked pocket passer nationally among his peers in the class of 2027.
Bo Bryan’s Recruitment and Commitment
Bo Bryan’s offer from Georgia was his first from a Power 4 school, and he chose the Bulldogs over teams like Austin Peay, East Tennessee State, North Alabama and UT Martin.
Bryan took over as the starter at Battle Ground Academy this season, and threw for over 2,000 yards with 30 touchdowns before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.
According to ESPN, Bo made numerous appearances on campus in Athens before committing, most recently attending Georgia’s win over Oklahoma at Sanford Stadium in September.
Bo is the second quarterback to commit to Georgia in this recruiting cycle. He joins four-star QB Colton Nussmeier, the younger brother of former LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier. Georgia’s 2027 recruiting class currently ranks 12th nationally, according to ESPN’s latest class rankings.
Luke Bryan, a die-hard Georgia fan, has become more of a presence at home games over the last few years. He performed a sold-out concert with fellow country star Jason Aldean at Sanford Stadium in April, the venue’s first concert since 2013.
Luke Bryan attended and later graduated from Georgia Southern University before the start of his music career.
He’s become one of the biggest stars in country, selling millions of records and winning numerous awards. He’s a five-time “entertainer of the year,” spanning awards given by both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association.
He released his most recent studio album Signs this fall, and continues to work as a judge on ABC’s American Idol alongside Lionel Richie and former show winner Carrie Underwood.
Georgia Bulldogs Football Season Rolls On
The Bulldogs will continue to build next season’s recruiting class, but the Bryans and the rest of Georgia’s fan base still have hopes of winning the SEC title and national championship this season.
Georgia is 6-1 this season and ranked No. 3 in the country. They’ll make a shorter-than-usual trip for a date with a familiar opponent this week, as the Bulldogs will face No. 17-ranked Florida inside of Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The usual site of the rivalry game – EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville – is currently undergoing major renovations, prompting “The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party,” at least for this year, to move indoors.
