The Denver Broncos tied an NFL record with their latest improbable comeback win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday evening.
Trailing 24-13 after three quarters, Bo Nix and the Broncos (6-2) looked poised to suffer a third loss that would have put a major dent in their AFC West hopes. But once again, Denver pulled off a wild comeback thanks to 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.
Jonah Coleman’s late rushing touchdown gave Denver the late lead, and Vance Joseph’s defense came up with a clutch goal-line stand to move the surging Broncos into first place in the division.
With the victory, the Broncos also tied a ridiculous NFL record.
According to ESPN Insights, the Broncos have tied the 2008-09 Indianapolis Colts’ record for most consecutive one-score wins in the regular season with 15. Denver’s streak began with a 21-17 road win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5 of last season.
ESPN Insights also noted that Nix is up to 13 career fourth-quarter comebacks, including the postseason. According to ESPN Insights, this is the most for any signal-caller in their first three season.
The Broncos are now half a game up on the Chiefs (5-2) for first in the AFC West. Before Denver won the division last year, the Chiefs had won the AFC West in nine consecutive years.

Winners of four straight, the Broncos will try to maintain their hold on the AFC West when they visit the Carolina Panthers next Sunday.
Carolina (3-4) is coming off a second straight loss, having fallen 27-19 to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night. Despite a losing record, the Panthers still sit atop the NFC South, half a game up on the 3-5 Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
