Why It’s a Good Deal
Amazon has long been considered the best place to find anything DeWalt on sale, including DeWalt batteries. Despite that, a key battery and charger set is priced better over at Walmart right now, signaling a pricing battle is officially here.
The DeWalt 20V Max Dual 5.0 Ah Battery and Charger Kit is down to $142 at Walmart, a far cry from its $299 MSRP, as seen at Lowe’s. This same kit, while also discounted, has seen constant price fluctuations on Amazon over the last handful of weeks, selling for anywhere between $120 and $142.
This deal is a sign that Walmart is serious about competing with Amazon as a destination for DeWalt users. And in recent days, the stakes have only increased: We’re now seeing huge discounts on other 20V battery sets (over 50% off), Atomic series 20V starter tool kits for well under $200, and even more powerful 60V series tools like this reciprocating saw, also for under $200.

What Shoppers Should Know
- Battery Style: DeWalt 20V Max 5.0 Ah Battery (DCB205)
- Charger Style: Charges DeWalt 12V, 20V, and Flexvolt (DCB1104)
- Includes: 2 x battery, 1 x charger
- Set Model: DCB205-2C
This is a kit that’s packed with value and convenience. For starters, the included charger is a sort of omni-charger for all things DeWalt and can handle 12V, 20V, and Flexvolt options. You won’t need another charger for years to come. Then it comes with two of the brand’s powerful 5.0 Ah batteries, which have 25% more battery life than the standard 4.0 Ah batteries without having significantly more weight or bulk.
What’s the value here? The charger is listed on Amazon, where it has a 4.7-star rating, for just $29. That makes the pair of batteries here $101. Men’s Journal actually found the pair of batteries for nearly this exact price, leading up to Walmart’s Summer Deals week (its version of Prime Day), but that deal is long gone. It could be months before you see a deal on 20V 5.0 Ah batteries at this price again.
