If you’ve slept on the TV series Dark Matter, now is the time to catch up. Based on the 2016 Blake Crouch novel of the same name, the basic premise begins with Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton) being kidnapped by his doppelganger from another dimension, and then trying to claw his way back to his real life. But along the way, various other Jasons are created. In the novel and Season 1 of the show, Jason got reunited with his family, and in Season 2, he and his wife Daniela (Jennifer Connelly) and son Charlie (Oakes Fegley) have been trying to find the perfect place to hide out. Season 2 isn’t based on a book, so the events of this season can be almost anything.
In Episode 8, on Friday, October 16, Charlie (Oakes Fegley) encounters an alternate version of his twin Max, but in the “original” universe, Max died very young. As Dark Matter heads toward its finale in two weeks, the stakes are, at this point, deeply emotional. Men’s Journal is pumped to present an exclusive clip from the new episode, “The Basic Oneness of Everything.”
Dark Matter: Episode 8, Exclusive Clip, Charlie Meets Max
In this scene from Dark Matter Season 2, Episode 8, Charlie meets a version of Max in one of the alternate worlds, which shocks Max, since in this world, he never grew up. It’s just one more example of how strange Dark Matter can be: people meeting versions of other people that they never knew, or never knew in a specific way.
Dark Matter Season 2 airs new episodes on Fridays on Apple TV. The season finale drops in two weeks.
