How and When to Watch the Best College Football Games of Week 9

College Football Week 9 is upon us, and the Halloween slate includes big game in all four viewing windows Saturday.

Will any ranked teams get a scare, or will they all survive another week in what has been a wild season so far.

Here’s how to plan your viewing schedule for this coming college football Saturday from noon until midnight and beyond:

Early CFB window features Notre Dame-Navy, Arizona-Texas Tech

No. 5 Notre Dame looks to bounce back from a stunning upset at BYU two weeks ago with a rivalry win over Navy.

The Midshipmen are looking to snap a two-game losing streak this season and beat the Fighting Irish for the first time since a 28-27 triumph in 2016. This game will kick off at noon Eastern on ABC and be played at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

In the same window, No. 22 Arizona will play at No. 13 Texas Tech (ESPN) in a game that will have big ramifications for the Big 12 race because both teams have a loss in conference play.

At 6-1, both are also still in contention for a College Football Playoff berth, too, but may not be able to survive another loss.

Florida-Georgia rivalry ready to renew in mid-afternoon

At 3:30, the biggest game is clearly No. 17 Florida taking on No. 3 Georgia in what’s traditionally known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

Usually played in Jacksonville, Fla., this time the Gators (5-2 overall, 3-2 SEC) and Bulldogs (6-1, 4-1) will tangle at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on ABC because of renovations to the stadium in Jacksonville.

Georgia, an upset loser to Auburn two weeks ago, leads the series 53-44-2 and has won five in a row.

Six other ranked teams will be in action in the mid-to-late afternoon window, including No. 6 Utah going to Cincinnati (3:45, ESPN). The Utes will try to avoid the upset treatment Texas Tech got at historic Nippert Stadium last weekend when the Bearcats crushed the Red Raiders.

Ohio State-USC, Miami-North Carolina game games to watch in prime time

If there is a team on upset alert in the night games on Saturday, it’s probably Ohio State.

The second-ranked Buckeyes will be playing their first game without quarterback Julian Sayin, who suffered an arm injury two weeks ago at Indiana and is not expected to return this season.

He will be replaced by freshman Luke Fahey or sophomore Tavien St. Clair in a game set to kick off at 7:30 Eastern on NBC.

Head coach Ryan Day has been coy about his choice, but Fahey replaced Sayin against the Hoosiers and was the first one off the bench in blowouts earlier in the season.

The Trojans are coming off an embarrassing loss at Wisconsin last week but could change their fortunes big time with a win over the Buckeyes, who trail in the series 10-13-1.

Five ranked teams will be in action in games that kick off in the 7 EDT window, but if that’s not enough football for you Texas State will play at No. 20 Boise State at 10 p.m. on the CW.

This is the final week of games before the first College Football Playoff rankings are released next Tuesday.
