‘I Kill the Bear’: Everything We Know About the New Series From ‘Letterkenny’ Creator Jared Keeso

Letterkenny might be a niche comedy (and very Canadian, which I say lovingly), but it has a loyal fanbase scattered across the globe. Six years into the show’s run, creator Jared Keeso introduced a spin-off, Shoresy, which felt less dialogue-driven and more narrative-centered (but still a ton of fun).

Now, Keeso is poised to release his third comedy, and it’s a bit of a pivot from the interconnected Letterkenny-verse. I Kill the Bear is a new six-episode series produced by New Metric Media that appears to have some of that small-town charm mixed with a dash of metropolitan flair. Based on the official trailer, we’re in for a beary (sorry, not sorry) strange time.

Here’s what we know about I Kill the Bear so far.

About ‘I Kill the Bear’

Here’s a synopsis per Crave:

“I Kill the Bear is a comedy about a family of bear wranglers for film sets, and why, after 100 years, they’ve decided to make this film their last. The Thibaults are a fourth-generation Franco-Ontarian family who make their living wrangling bears on film sets. They’re incredibly kind, well-intentioned people who have spent most of their lives isolated in the bush and suddenly find themselves trying to navigate a Hollywood world they don’t completely understand.”

The trailer is, in a few words, a fever dream. It’s like Wes Anderson and Letterkenny, specifically the scenes with the Dyck family, had a baby, and this was the product of that conception. Then, the dance-like beats of the music kick in toward the end, and you know you’re in for a Keeso production. It looks like his weirdest, wildest show yet, and I’m here for it (as long as the bears remain unharmed).

The Cast and Creative Team Behind the Series

I Kill the Bear boasts a sprawling cast full of Letterkenny and Shoresy alums, plus some Keeso newbies.

Firstly, there’s the main cast: Jared Keeso as Gabby Thibault, Adrian Holmes (Letterkenny) as Bob, Georges St-Pierre as Olivier Thibault, Jonathan Torrens (Letterkenny, Shoresy) as Cedric Thibault, Sarah-Maude Beauchesne (creative consultant for Shoresy) as Andrée Thibault, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger as The Son of Grizzly Adams, Kristin Kreuk as Kathy, Scott Thompson (Shoresy) as Edward, Dylan Playfair (Letterkenny) as Timothy,  Eliana Jones (Shoresy) as Rose, Frederick Roy (Shoresy) as Alex, and Megha Sandhu as Ricky.

The comedy also includes a bevy of exciting guest stars, such as Andrew Antsanen (Shoresy), Jann Arden, Brent Butt, Michala Brasseur (Shoresy), Jesse Camacho, Kim Coates, Art D’Ecco, Tricia Helfer, Emma Hunter, Kim Cloutier (Letterkenny, Shoresy), Ryan McDonell (Shoresy), Ben Mulroney, Michelle Mylett (Letterkenny), Matt Paradis, Jay Onrait (Shoresy), Maxim Roy (Shoresy), Melanie Scrofano (Letterkenny), Rachel Sellan, Hannah Simone, George Stroumboulopoulos, and more.

Keeso serves as series creator, writer, and executive producer. The show’s story is by Keeso and producer Trevor Risk. Like Letterkenny and Shoresy, I Kill the Bear was filmed in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

‘I Kill the Bear’ Release Date

If you live in Canada and have a Crave subscription, you can watch I Kill the Bear starting Friday, Nov. 6, 2026, with its first two episodes (followed by two a week). The Hulu streaming date hasn’t been confirmed yet, but based on Shoresy‘s typical rollout, stateside Letterkenny-verse fans could see the comedy in December or early 2027 (there are generally one or two months between the Crave and Hulu dates for Shoresy).
