The Lucky Brand Cotton Barn Jacket is on sale for $60 at Nordstrom Rack, 69% off its normal $195 price tag. It’s available in two colors, Mushroom (a light brown) and Olive (a washed-out green), each with a corduroy collar that’s a slightly darker version of the rest of the jacket. Available sizes range from small to XXL, and all are in stock as of this writing, though the smalls are running low.

This jacket is a simple garment with a 100% cotton shell and 100% polyester lining. The latter is nearly the same color as the former, save for a bit of extra sheen and stitching from the square quilted construction. There’s a zippered pocket on the left chest, twin welt hand pockets to keep your fingers warm between cider sips, and a full-zip closure from the waist to the neck.
Saving this jacket from complete uniformity is that spread corduroy collar, a touch that elevates the entire look of the garment. There are also snap buttons on both sides of the waist as well as at the cuffs. They allow you to choose from a tighter or looser fit, sealing in more heat on colder days or giving a more relaxed look when the weather allows.

You wouldn’t be surprised to find a picture of the Lucky Brand Cotton Barn Jacket in the dictionary next to “barn jacket,” so classic is its aesthetic. It’s also a thoughtfully constructed piece of outerwear, a not-too-heavy and not-too-light piece that’s great for cool October and November days. For $60, it’s also a supremely good value right now, and anyone without a barn jacket would do well to pick one up to see what all the fuss is about.
