Why We Love This Deal
One common issue with drills and power tools in general is that they can be too large to fit into every nook and cranny. Different companies try to fix this in different ways. Bosch, for example, makes a Flexiclick drill for angled driving. If you want raw power constrained into a compact format, however, you ought to check out Milwaukee’s Subcompact Tool Set, or at least the drill/driver in the kit, especially while it’s on sale.
The Milwaukee M12 Subcompact Drill/Driver is now selling for $65 on Amazon, compared to $129 at The Home Depot. Hundreds of these drills are sold every month on Amazon, and the company flags it as an item that has significantly lower returns than other products in its category, signaling its high quality.

It’s a small drill, under 2 pounds, but quite mighty with a max speed of 1,550 RPM and the ability to knock out 350 inch-pounds of power. This drill is intended for those who are working in tight spaces, such as ducts and vents, but also makes for a great minimalist drill/driver that can fit into smaller tool storage systems. In other words, if you aren’t aiming to collect a ton of tools, this might be the first and last drill/driver you need.
The drill works with Milwaukee M12 batteries, Milwaukee’s smaller battery size. There isn’t one included in the set, but any of the ones you’ve collected from your extended Milwaukee collection will work. Since the battery fits into the bottom of the handle, the battery does not add to the drill’s slim back-to-head length.
What Shoppers Are Saying
One electrician said that the smaller M12 is “lighter, smaller, and perfect for tight jobs.” They also noted that they like it for traveling, which the small size accommodates quite well.
Another user confirmed its quality. “It’s a Milwaukee drill and works like one. Good power for being so compact.”
The Milwaukee M12 Subcompact Drill/Driver is $65 when you buy it on Amazon, or about half the retail price you’ll see elsewhere.
