My Chemical Romance Score First U.K. No. 1 With 20th Anniversary Edition Of Iconic Album

My Chemical Romance has scored their first UK number-one album with The Black Parade, 20 years after its release.

The 2006 album was recently reissued for its 20th anniversary with unreleased tracks and new live recordings. It peaked at no 2 when originally released, with the lead single “Welcome To The Black Parade” landing at the top of the charts.

The album is now officially the band’s third to hit the top of the charts in the UK, with 2004’s Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge hitting No. 9 and 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys hitting No. 2 as recently as July this year thanks to its reissue.

Fontaines D.C.’s Dopamine Chamber fell one spot to No. 2. In its opening week, the Irish group’s fifth album scored the third-biggest debut of 2026 in the U.K., behind Harry Styles and Olivia Rodrigo.

My Chemical Romance recently released a new animated short film with an all-star voice cast, including Phoebe Bridgers, Billie Eilish, Hideo Kojima, and John C. McGinley.

Called a “Prelude to the End,” the band collaborated with visual artist Lauren Tsai to create a short film that incorporates The Black Parade track “The End.”

This follows the band coming under fire for their backing dancers dressing up like Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. The cheer team filed a lawsuit against the rock band last week for infringing on its trademarked uniforms during a provocative skit at the Hollywood Bowl last week.

During their song “Teenagers,” background dancers performed in costumes that the filing states “copied the DCC Uniform’s signature elements: white boots, white shorts, a blue blouse tied above the midriff, and a white vest adorned with blue stars.”

An agreement was reached before a court hearing with the emo band folded, and DCC won big.
