Netflix Series With 100% on Rotten Tomatoes Coming Back for Season 3

A beloved Netflix series with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes in its latest season is coming back for a third season.

Creator and showrunner Matt Roller confirmed that the writers’ room has already finished the scripts for the third season of Haunted Hotel, an animated series. In a conversation with Sonny Bunch on The Bulwark Goes to Hollywood podcast, Roller stated he is aiming for a release before Halloween 2027.

“In the Netflix model… you don’t get the next season until they see the numbers on the prior season, which means there’s always a point where all the work stops and you don’t get to backload episodes that can then be dropped on an annual cycle,” he said at the time.

Netflix Moving Forward With Season 3

What’s on Netflix first reported the news that Haunted Hotel is coming back for a third season, with a comment from the creator.

“I’m so excited to invite viewers back to the Undervale! Season three is full of the biggest, funniest, scariest, saddest, and Abaddoniest stories we’ve ever told, and I can’t wait for everyone to see them. Candles!” Roller said.

The series follows a single mother of two, who struggles to run a haunted hotel with the help of her estranged brother – one of the ghosts haunting the hotel and thinks the other ghosts have some pretty good ideas.

It stars Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, Jimmi Simpson, and Skyler Gisondo, who was recently seen in Primetime opposite Robert Pattinson.

The viewership numbers for Season 2 bounced around before finding traction earlier this month. According to What’s on Netflix, Season 1 landed in the weekly English TV top 10 straight away with 1.8 million views in its first three days, while peaking at 2.8 million views in its second week.

Season 2, meanwhile, missed the weekly chart entirely in its first week. However, it bounced back and into the Top 10 at No. 9 the following week (October 12th to 18th) with 2.7 million views.
