Netflix’s The Diplomat is off to a roaring start for Season 4.
The hit Keri Russell-led political thriller debuted its fourth season on Oct. 15, and it’s already steadily climbing the global Top 10 chart for the juggernaut streamer. Per FlixPatrol, the series currently sits at No. 7 on said chart.
‘The Diplomat’ Season 4 Gets Fresh Rotten Tomatoes Score
The new season is also premiering to universal critical acclaim, with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score. This achievement marks a first for The Diplomat, which always fares well on the review aggregator, but it’s the first time one of its seasons has received a 100% on the Tomatometer.
Collider lauded the new season for its entertainment factor, writing, “In a sea of streaming shows fighting for your attention, The Diplomat has once again raised the bar, from the complexity of its characters to its addictive plot.” The Guardian gave it five stars and noted that “nothing else on TV is as entertaining as this exquisitely stressful show.”
About Season 4
Here’s the official Season 4 synopsis: “In Season 4 of The Diplomat, two marriages threaten to eat each other alive. One catastrophic moment shatters the fragile peace Kate Wyler brokered between the US and UK, as well as the crumbling marriage she’s trying to save. While she fights to stem the bleeding, President Grace Penn and VP Hal Wyler’s conspiracy to steal Russia’s most powerful weapon hurtles the United States toward war. Kate and Todd, at best an uneasy pair, unite to stop the Grace-Hal alliance from upending the balance of power abroad and at home.
Four Emmy nominees paint an unmissable portrait of two marriages: Keri Russell as Ambassador Kate Wyler, Rufus Sewell as Vice President Hal Wyler, Allison Janney as President Grace Penn, and Bradley Whitford as Todd Penn.”
Rounding out the cast is Ali Ahn as Eidra Park, Ato Essandoh as Stuart Heyford, Rory Kinnear as Nicol Trowbridge, and Nana Mensah as Billie Appiah. The series hails from Debora Cahn, who also executive produces alongside Russell.
The Diplomat Seasons 1-4 are now streaming on Netflix.
