Powerball Jackpot Hits $716 Million, Pushing This Week’s Two Lottery Jackpots Past $1.1 Billion

Nobody hit the Powerball jackpot on Monday night, so it’s up to an estimated $716 million for Wednesday’s drawing. Add Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot of $443 million, and there’s a combined $1.159 billion on the table this week.

Mega Millions Goes First

The Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 11 p.m. ET. The jackpot is an estimated $443 million, or $186.5 million if the winner takes cash, the North Carolina Education Lottery said.

Mega Millions has had three jackpot winners this year. The last one was an $800 million prize in the July 28 drawing, won on a ticket sold at a Wawa in Bradenton, Florida, FOX reported.

Then Powerball on Wednesday

Powerball draws on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The $716 million jackpot has a cash value of $307.2 million, according to Powerball.

Monday’s winning numbers were 18, 26, 49, 50 and 54, with a Powerball of 1 and a 3x Power Play. Nobody matched all six. Two tickets, one in Florida and one in Georgia, matched the five white balls and won $1 million each. Nobody won the $2 million prize for matching five with the Power Play.

The jackpot was an estimated $687 million going into Monday and jumped to $716 million after it, up from $674 million a week ago.

No Winner Since August

The last Powerball jackpot was won on Aug. 12 with a ticket sold at a Hy-Vee in Quincy, Illinois. It was worth $1.04 billion, and the winner came forward to claim it in September, FOX 32 Chicago reported.

Before Monday, 31 drawings in a row had gone by without a jackpot winner, Powerball said. Monday made it 32, so Wednesday’s drawing is the 33rd of this run.

At $716 million, it’s the second-biggest Powerball jackpot of 2026, behind the Illinois prize. Powerball has had six jackpot wins this year: $209.3 million in North Carolina in January, $250.8 million in Arkansas in March, $230.8 million in Delaware in April, $143 million split by tickets in Indiana and Kansas in April, $20 million split by tickets in Florida and Texas in May, and the $1.04 billion in Illinois.

A winner on Wednesday could take the $716 million as 30 payments over 29 years or the $307.2 million lump sum, both before taxes.

The Odds

A Powerball ticket costs $2. The odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million, and the odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24.9. For Mega Millions, the jackpot odds are about 1 in 290 million.

Powerball draws every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET. Mega Millions draws every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. ET.
