Shohei Ohtani May Not Have Beaten His Slump but This $3 Million Collectible Certainly Did

Shohei Ohtani had quite the lackluster postseason showing. With a .192 batting average, 1 home run, and 3 RBIs across 8 games, it makes sense why the Dodgers were swept in the NLCS by the Brewers.

With Ohtani’s poor showings across these games, his collectibles market also began to crash.

Take the 2025 Topps MVP Collection Triple Relic FoilFractor #TF-1 Shohei Ohtani NLCS Game 4 Game-Used MLB Logoman Relic Card (#1/1), for example. A card that could have sold in the millions went for ‘merely’ $366k.

While this is still quite a lot, it simply does not hold a candle to other Ohtani collectibles.

This downward trajectory seems to have come to a halt, however, and predictably so, as the 2025 Topps MLB MVP The Game Dynasty Black Shohei Ohtani MLB LOGOMAN PATCH AUTO 1/1 sold for a whopping $3.24 million after 52 bids during Fanatics Collect’s Premier Auction.

Rated a PSA 9 and in ‘mint’ condition, this card was printed to honor one of the greatest performances in North American sports history.

It commemorates Ohtani’s stats from Game 4 of the NLCS against the Brewers in 2025. With LA up 3-0 in the series and on the precipice of a clean sweep, Ohtani took to the mound and struck out 10 over six innings.

He would then showcase his two-way prowess and hit three home runs on the other side of the ball.

This record-breaking price tag makes this card the most expensive Los Angeles Dodgers card that has ever sold at auction.

Shohei Ohtani Had Another Collectible Sell For A Ton

It’s clear that the aforementioned Ohtani card sold because of its rich history. Another collectible featuring Ohtani sold in the millions, and despite it having another all-time great, it did not come close to the $3.24 million benchmark.

The 2026 Topps Chrome Dual MVP Shohei Ohtani Aaron Judge GOLD MLB LOGOMAN PATCH AUTO 1/1 CGC AUTH sold for $1.23 million on Fanatics Collect’s Premier Auction as well, following 52 bids.

With autographs from both Judge and Ohtani, the card is a culmination of sorts of their 2025 MVPs.

Ohtani won the National League MVP while Judge secured the batting MVP, putting up an average of .331, nailing 53 home runs, and 114 RBIs.

It is due to these MVPs that this card contains two Gold, game-worn Logoman patches, which act as another selling point for the collectible.

So, while cards on the lower end of the Ohtani financial spectrum may have suffered in worth due to his recent play, it’s safe to say that once you cross the millions, he still has massive appeal, and understandably so.
