The most obvious use for 200 square feet of covered space in your driveway or yard is to store a car, but a good carport can also be used as a place to keep backyard gear — think yard tools, lawn games, a grill — or even as a spot for people to gather that isn’t in the sun. Whatever you plan on using this space for, you’ll need a solid carport to make it happen, and right now Walmart has a heavy-duty option on sale with a big discount.
The Walsunny 10-Foot by 20-Foot Heavy Duty Carport is on sale for $161 at Walmart, 43% off its normal $280 price tag. This deal is good on the green colorway, and it reflects both the clearance discount down to $170 and an additional $9 on-page coupon. A khaki option is also on sale for $170 without the extra $9 off.
Every carport like this has two principal components: the frame and the canopy. On both counts, this carport excels. The frame is made of 1.5-inch poles made of 1.2-mm-thick steel. They have been powder-coated to prevent corrosion and rust, so they will stay strong over time. The canopy is made of a thick, 180-gram polyethylene that effectively blocks the sun (including UV rays) and rain and won’t blow away in windy conditions thanks to the included high-quality elastic ball straps that unite the two components. And speaking of wind, this carport comes with tent pegs and extra rope to keep everything firmly on the ground. Assembly is quick and, remarkably for a carport of this size, tool-free, taking two adults just half an hour to put together.
One shopper wrote that this carport is “very simple to assemble, and the quality is sturdy.” They’ve gotten “plenty of compliments on the appearance, and so far it’s done its job in protecting my car” from the elements.
Other customers agreed, calling this an “excellent carport for an excellent price” that’s “sturdy and strong.” One said theirs had already made it through 28-mph winds unscathed while another added that the temperature under the carport was a full 10 degrees less than in the sun.
