Yoonchae—member of the beloved girl group Katseye—knows the importance of skin care. And it isn’t just because she grew up in K-beauty mecca Seoul. “I’m more into a three-step beauty routine than 10,” she says. “I have very sensitive skin that breaks out easily.”
Not ideal for somebody whose full-time gig includes rigorous dancing and getting ultra-glam for events like Fashion Week and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. But that’s where her new partnership with Dr.Jart+ and her curated Glass Skin edit come into the equation. “I realized when I would use the face mask, my skin would be calm the next day,” she says of the brand’s Cryo Rubber Moisturizing Face Mask. Now she’s using it as skin-care prep for all of her big events, combined with a beauty trick she learned from YouTube. “I watched all of these videos about people doing face massage before their skin-care routine, and it was really amazing,” she says. “So I always do that before I go on stage.”
When it comes to those pop-star off-duty days, it’s the brand’s BB cream she relies on. “When I have a day off, I don’t usually wear foundation,” she says. “The BB cream is so lightweight, I just put it on with my fingers.”
Now, six months after her blonde-hair reveal (the entire group went different versions of blonde to welcome a new era), Yoonchae can confirm that the cliché of “blondes have more fun” is, well, actually true. “Oh, yeah. Being blonde feels really different, especially when I’m onstage. I have an entirely different personality with my blonde hair.”
