Chiefs Reveal Sudden Travis Kelce Injury News After Chargers Win

The Kansas City Chiefs improved to 5-0 on Sunday afternoon with a 22-6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kansas City’s offense was productive, led by running back Kenneth Walker, who scored two touchdowns. However, the defense also played a dominant role, recording two turnovers and four sacks.

As for veteran tight end Travis Kelce, who’s in his 14th season, he hauled in four receptions for 53 yards to continue his solid start to the 2026 campaign.

After the game, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid revealed that Kelce tweaked his ankle during the contest but remained in the game.

Reid noted that Kelce would be sore the following day but ultimately was OK, which is fortunate for Kansas City.

Via Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports: “Chiefs HC Andy Reid says Jaylon Moore has a concussion. Travis Kelce tweaked his ankle and played through it. Says he’ll be sore tomorrow, but he’ll be OK. Jalen Royals got checked for a concussion but was cleared to return. Kingsley Suamataia took a kick to the calf but will be OK.”

Kelce was briefly seen getting his ankle taped early in the first quarter, but little was made of it.

As of now, it doesn’t appear the injury will affect his status moving forward, but given that he’s a 35-year-old veteran, the Chiefs could be cautious with him during practice this week.

The Chiefs had their bye in Week 5 and will now shift their focus to a massive road game next Sunday night against the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
