Grand Theft Auto VI is finally supposed to arrive next month, but a fake announcement circulating online has some fans wondering whether Rockstar Games has delayed the highly anticipated game yet again.
The short answer: No. GTA 6 has not been delayed again.
A social media post that appeared to come from Rockstar claimed that the game was pushed back to March 2027. The post quickly spread online, but it was not an official announcement from Rockstar. As For The Win reported, the screenshot is fake, and there is currently no indication that the release date has changed.
Rockstar’s official website continues to list Nov. 19, 2026 as the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI.
When Is GTA 6 Coming Out?
For now, GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Rockstar announced the current release date in November 2025, moving the game from its previously announced May 26, 2026, launch date. The studio said the additional time would allow Rockstar to finish the game with the level of polish players expect.
The game’s official website still features Nov. 19 prominently, along with its latest trailers and an extended gameplay look.
How Many Times Has GTA 6 Been Delayed?
Despite the latest rumor, GTA 6 has officially been delayed twice. The first delay came in May 2025, when Rockstar moved the game from its original Fall 2025 release window to May 26, 2026.
The second came in November 2025, when the studio pushed the game from May to Nov. 19, 2026. That remains the official release date today.
