Three new Omega Seamasters celebrate James Bond, while three others are inspired by 007’s chief adversary, the shadowy crime organization known as Spectre.

While 007 fans eagerly await the long-debated news of who will portray the next James Bond, there are six new Bond-approved Omega Seamaster watches to celebrate, toasting both the fictional British superspy and villainous organization Spectre.

It marks the first time that Omega, the official watch of the unflappable secret agent, has released a timepiece nodding to the shadowy Spectre, let alone three watches featuring details dedicated to the global criminal organization. Watch expert Teddy Baldassarre called the debut “an intriguing thematic twist,” as the sleek black Seamaster 300M editions take on a more sinister tone with a crisp black dial and black ceramic bezel ring, with the mark of Spectre particularly noticeable on its caseback. The new duo begs the question, though, according to Baldassarre: “Which one is the hero of this story, and which one is the villain?” in matters of looks and versatility, he mused on YouTube.

Options abound for fans of 007 and perhaps, the rare fan of Spectre. The new Omega Seamaster James Bond and Spectre series includes two limited-edition standalone watches (one nodding to Spectre, one toasting 007) on Milanese mesh bracelets, along with two limited-edition sets featuring both a stainless-steel watch and a platinum-gold Omega model. Both standalone watches retail for $8,600, while the two-watch limited-edition set featuring both platinum-gold and stainless steel timepieces will run lucky buyers a 007-worthy $89,800.

Inquire within for information on the limited-edition sets. As with other covetable Omega James Bond timepieces, units have sold quickly: The Omega Seamaster 300M Spectre Edition is currently unavailable online, as is its counterpart, the blue-dial Omega Seamaster 300M James Bond Edition. For now, it largely appears these timepieces have yet to hit the secondary market, but other Omega Seamaster James Bond editions can be found online at sites like Chrono24.

Each new watch contains largely the same specs, from its 42mm case size to the use of the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806 movement within. The intentional choice to contrast Bond and Spectre creates a massively collectible opportunity, the watchmaker said. “Bringing Bond and Spectre together also creates a new way to look at two of the most recognizable names in the 007 universe,” Omega noted in a launch statement.

More curious is a slew of subtle updates to the Seamaster silhouette favored by Bond. Baldassarre notes that each watch offers “some truly clever Easter eggs for the die-hard collector,” including the gun-barrel blue dial found on the stainless steel edition in tribute to Bond, while a domed crystal tops off each dial in vintage-inspired fashion, Baldassarre notes. “I think this is a very fun way to celebrate James Bond and the fight between MI6 and Spectre,” he said. “What you have here are handsome watches in their own right even without the cinematic connection. The hidden Easter eggs are super cool without being obvious,” like the numerals on the left side of the dial indicating a limited-edition run of 77 (or, “00/77,” for example).

In another collector’s twist, watches in the limited-edition complete set (one celebrating Spectre, one celebrating Bond) arrive on corresponding textured alligator leather straps. Baldassarre notes that fans of other 007 Omega Seamaster watches should find much to love in the new series, provided they’re able to get their hands on a rare James Bond diver. “These two watches are both modern and feature retro vibes throughout,” he added. With a new 007 on the horizon, prepare for future Omega James Bond timepieces launches.
